Will there be an audiobook for A Rake Of His Own?

Yes! It’s due to release at the end of March. You can pre-order it here: https://www.audible.com/pd/B0BS1R848M

How does A Rake of His Own relate to the Stariel quartet?

Whilst A Rake of His Own is set after the events of The King of Faerie, it is intended as self-contained spin-off centred on a different main character (Marius Valstar). It does include cameos of some characters from the quartet, but in theory it should make sense even to someone who hasn’t read the main series. It’s much more romance-focused than the main series and also a murder mystery!

Will there be more Stariel books?

Possibly, although I can neither confirm nor deny exactly what or when yet.

What are your future writing plans?

To keep writing books! Undoubtedly more romantic fantasy, because that’s how I roll. I like to keep my plans close to my chest until they are more fully formed.

Is there a fan community I can join?

Yes! There is a community-run (i.e. not by me) Stariel subreddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Stariel/

Go forth and espouse wild theories and crackships to your heart’s content.

I am in New Zealand – where can I buy a paperback?

Not currently, unless you are a bookstore, in which case – email me and we’ll work something out!

If you are an individual wanting a copy, Good Books in Wellington stocks my books (and they sell online!). You can also ask your local bookstore to order a copy for you, check out your local library, or check out this post for a list of online retailers.

Are there hardbacks of Stariel available?

Currently, no, but one day I’ll get round to it, I’m sure!

What kind of books do you like to read?

I read mainly fantasy and romance, though I like other genres too. My favourite authors include Terry Pratchett, Tamora Pierce, Mercedes Lackey, Georgette Heyer, Brandon Sanderson, and Naomi Novik.

Where do you hang out on the internet?

Instagram is where you’re most likely to find me posting pictures of pretty books, coffee, and my cats. I also have a Tiktok, a Facebook page, and Twitter account you can follow. If you want to get in touch, send me a message on any of those platforms, or shoot me an email to aj AT ajlancaster DOT com
